  • Cyprus is a member of the European Union since May 1st 2004. It is also a member of the United Nations, Council of Europe, the Commonwealth and many other international organisations.

Weather temperature reports are given in degrees Celsius, petrol is sold by the litre, grocery items in grams and kilograms and fabric lengths in metres. Road speeds and distances are posted in kilometres per hour and kilometres respectively.
